It's still Thursday...for another hour and a half...and I'm hoping to be in bed well before the clock strikes midnight. Unlike last night or the night before that or even...you get the picture.
1. Hmmm...well...so...how are you? This has been a remarkably unremarkable week. Where to begin?
2. A couple weeks ago I wrote a post about a peaceful protest to which I contributed some of my own photographs. Today the pastor of the church said they would not burn the Quran but then later recanted? It's all so confusing. I'm still glad that I was part of project that Karen pioneered, I just hope that this whole mess can soon be resolved.
3. My beautiful, brilliant friend, Kat sent me a surprise in the mail. She had some extra copies of a special Lilith Fair edition of Self magazine that included a CD of songs from many of the women who performed for Lilith Fair this year. I love the CD! Many of the artists I was not previously familiar with so it's been really fun finding new music to enjoy. Favorite track: "Drive My Soul" by Lights. Also included in the magazine was a packet of seeds for a butterfly garden (fun!) and some inspirational magnets:
4. Speaking of new music my other beautiful and brilliant friend, Sarah has totally made me a Weepies fan! Oh, my! I could listen to them all. day. long. Love! Favorites are "I Was Made For Sunny Days" and "All This Beauty".
5. When I went to the one-year sober party for my friend last weekend, I brought some ridged potato chips and french onion dip (which is my current food obsession). It was a gorgeous day, we were sitting out under a big shade tree, catching up on all the news of folks and waiting for dinner to be ready. I opened the bag of chips and the dip and we had ourselves a nice appetizer. A couple days later two of the friends I was noshing with told me on Facebook that they had just impulse bought potato chips and french onion dip! I wasn't sure whether to say, "I'm sorry" or "You're welcome" but I do like being a trendsetter!
6. My Hokies had their first football game of the season. And that's all I'm going to say about that. (It was painful and ugly.)
7. My friend, Betsy, published a book of ghost stories all set in Nashville and surrounding areas. It came in the mail this week and I've been reading snippets of it here and there. I seriously can't read too much of it at one time because I am the biggest fraidy cat ever!
8. I'm not going to wuss out and stop at eight things. I refuse. Are you totally bored yet? I don't blame you if you are.
9. I earned my second mayorship on Foursquare today! And do actually feel like I "earned" this one. My first one was my own home residence and since I'm the only Foursquare user here, it was kind of moot point. Though I do have married friends who are Foursquare users and I find it rather delightful to watch them oust each other for mayor.
10. I'm seriously considering splurging on this purse tomorrow. Isn't that just the cutest? I've been considering a new purse for Autumn and it's going to be a virtual steal tomorrow afternoon from 2-4! (I even have an alarm set so that I don't forget!)
